WINDSOR One point was all that separated the Thetford Academy boys track and field team from Bellows Falls at Windsor High’s Murphy-Morse Complex on Saturday. One point, though, was all it took to give the Panthers a winning margin over the Terriers to complete a sweep of the meet after the girls team ran away from the field.
Knute Linehan leaped his way to three wins for the Thetford boys, taking the top spot in long jump, triple jump and high jump. Tobin Durham added a win in the 1,500 meters in 4 minutes, 20.37 seconds. Ben Mattern won the 3,000 meters in 11:23.87 for the Panthers.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION Patience proved to be a virtue for the Windsor High softball team on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets (3-2) combined seven hits with 15 walks and used them to earn a 19-3 win over Hartford in a five-inning Southern Vermont League softball contest at Hartford High School. As for the hit parade, Hannah Wood, Paige Kleefisch and Kate Murphy led the way by driving in three runs apiece. Wood and Murphy both went 2-for-3, and Kleefisch delivered all of her RBIs with a three-run homer in the third inning.

WEARE, N.H. Lebanon High girls lacrosse took advantage of a John Stark team on break and missing three players to win, 17-3, on Friday.
Lebanon (2-2) was led by a strong game by junior Kayla Taber, who scored two goals and assisted three more. Junior Catherine Cole and freshman Maddie Jewell each scored three goals and recorded one assist. Junior Molly Smith finished with two goals and assisted two more. Senior Sydney Gonyea chipped in two goals and one assist.
Senior goalie Lena Nowell saved 12 shots, including all nine John Stark shots in the second half.
