Public Health â Idaho North Central District reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 in its five-county region Monday, including 11 cases in Latah County. This latest count pushes Latah Countyâs case total to 2,990 since the pandemic began last spring.
New cases include two men and two women between the ages of 18 and 29, one man and one woman in their 30s, two men and a woman in their 40s, a man in his 50s and a man in his 70s.
According to the health districtâs website, 2,990 people in Latah County have recovered from COVID-19 as of Monday. The death toll related to the virus was unchanged at 10.
Whitman County’s coronavirus activity level has dropped to its lowest point in 3 months.
There were 110 new cases of coronavirus in Whitman County over the past 2 weeks. Whitman County Public Health reports that the decline in new cases has dropped the county’s coronavirus activity level to 219 per 100,000 people. The current coronavirus activity level remains in the moderate range and is the lowest since mid-February.
Farmington remains the hotspot for coronavirus locally in Washington with 6 new cases in the past 2 weeks out of a population of 125.
There were 2 new coronavirus hospitalizations reported by Whitman County Public Health from over the weekend and on Monday. 13 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed locally in Washington over the past 3 days.

Rowan Offers Incentives to Get Vaccinated
May 7, 6:15 a.m. Rowan University has announced a vaccine requirement for students who live or study on campus, and some incentives for getting the vaccine,
“Our message today is simple. We believe the path to normalcy is through widespread vaccination and we want our entire community to commit to reaching the goal of widespread vaccination,” Rowan president Ali A. Houshmand said in a letter. “If we work together, we can reach this goal and offer the Rowan University experience that our students and employees deserve.”
