Cowgirls Pick Up Wins Over UTSA and Texas Southern, Clean sweep of Cowgirl Classic II

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - McNeese softball picked up two more wins on the final day of the Cowgirl Classic II with a 3-2 win over UTSA and a 3-1 win over Texas Southern to extend its winning streak to four games.
McNeese (7-12) was led at the plate by Cori McCrary who was 4 of 6 with a double, three stolen bases, and a .667 batting average on the day. The Cowgirls also got extra base hits from Caleigh Cross, Haylee Brinlee and Gracie Devall.
McNeese softball gave 12th ranked UL-Lafayette all it could handle Wednesday night before Justice Milz’s three-run home run in the sixth gave the Cajuns a 5-4 lead and the eventual win. UL Softball Records Road Win Over McNeese
The 12th-ranked Louisiana Ragin Cajuns got back on the winning track with a road win over a state rival on Wednesday night.
Louisiana defeated the McNeese St. Cowgirls, 5-4, in a non-conference contest in Lake Charles.
Justice Milz launched a three-run home run in the top half of the 6th inning to help lift Louisiana to the come-from-behind victory.
The triumph was the second in as many tries against McNeese for the Cajuns this season, after an 8-7 extra-innings win over the Cowgirls last Wednesday at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park.
The win, which ended a short two-game losing streak, opened a busy week of action for UL, who will play four more non-conference games this week, all of them on the road.

ORLANDO, Fla. McNeese softball dropped a doubleheader at No. 22 Central Florida here Friday, 3-0 and 4-1. The two teams will conclude the series with a single game at noon Saturday.
UCF (8-2) took the opening game with a two-hit shutout from Alea White who improved to 5-0 on the year. White, who became UCF’s all-time wins leader last Sunday against New Mexico State threw a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts and one walk.

(KPLC) - Despite a 7-3 deficit with five outs remaining against a top-ten foe, McNeeseâs bats came alive scoring four runs in the sixth and seventh innings to force extra innings vs. rival UL Lafayette (6-0). The Cajuns would retire the Cowgirls (3-7) in order before Alissa Daltonâs RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning would end the game in UL Lafayetteâs favor, 8-7.
