The board of trustees at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart in Lake Forest has voted to appoint Dawn Nichols, Ed.D., the next head of school, effective July 1. Dr. Nichols is a highly successful educational leader who has worked in public, independent and Catholic schools, board Chair Mary Clare Pollard White said.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested late Tuesday by Murrysville police, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after, police say, she cut a man with a knife during an argument, according to court records.
Samantha Dawn Nichols of Mt. Pleasant was arrested after the 11 p.m. incident at the man’s residence in Murrysville on Carousel Drive, according to court documents.
The 49-year-old man was transported by Murrysville Medic One ambulance to AHN Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for treatment of a laceration on his right forearm and a puncture wound to his left hand, according to police Officer Matthew Mastorovich.
