Hyderabad’s public toilets filthy, stinking due to GHMC apathy By Mohammed Hussain Ahmed|   Published: 19th April 2021 12:23 pm IST Hyderabad: The 3000 public toilets constructed by the GHMC in Hyderabad are in a bad shape.  The GHMC officials have failed to appoint any agency to maintain these toilets. A visit to about five dozen public toilets at various areas of the city revealed how filthy and stinking these toilets are.  Most of these defunct toilet structures with its doors stolen become garbage dumping grounds.  Its interiors suffered irreparable damage.  There is no water supply or drainage connection to these toilets. A signboard declaring “under construction” is displayed on these structures even though their construction work has been completed much earlier.  It is obvious that some mischievous elements vandalized these structures.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Agra said the vaccination drive would resume on Monday as 15,000 doses are expected to arrive by Sunday. There are about 199 health centres in Agra district where the vaccination drive is going on.

There were media reports which suggested that some officials of the home minister’s staff and others claiming to be his relatives are involved in land grabbing and extortion.  After these reports, the home minister instructed the higher officials to conduct inquiry in the matter. The home minister categorically stated that anyone from his staff found involved in such illegal activities will not be spared.

The program which started at 11 am was attended by a large gathering of parents looking for prospective matches for their boys and girls.
