Image Source: IANS News Panaji, Jan 11 : Minister of State for Defence and North Goa MP Shripad Naik has been admitted to a hospital in north Karnataka after his car met with an accident. Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary C.T. Ravi said in a tweet that Naik s wife, Vijaya, who was travelling with him, has succumbed to the injuries she sustained at the time of the accident. Goa BJP spokesperson Narendra Sawaikar has wished Naik a speedy recovery .

Tribune News Service New Delhi, January 11 In a tragic incident, Union Minister Shripad Naik who was travelling in the car met with an accident and his wife Vijaya Naik died in the hospital this evening. The car in which they were travelling turned turtle at Hosakambi village of Ankola taluk in Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka. They were travelling from Yallpura to Gokarna. His wife met with serious injuries and died in the hospital, while three others including minister Shripad Naik had minor injuries. Shripad Naik has been shifted to Goa Government Medical College. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Goa CM to ensure the best possible treatment for Naik.

January 11, 2021 / 10:46 PM IST Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Ayurveda, Shripad Yesso Naik s vehicle met with an accident on January 11. The minister along with three others have been injured as a result. The accident occurred while the minister and his wife Vijaya Naik were going from Yellapur to Gokarna in Karnataka, earlier this evening. It took place near Ankola in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. Vijaya Naik has died as a result of the accident.
