Union minister Shripad Naik injured in accident; wife, aide dead
PANAJI: Union minister Shripad Naik was injured while his wife and an aide died in a road accident in Karnataka on Monday, an official said.
Naik s wife Vijaya and the aide were travelling with the minister when the vehicle met with an accident near Ankola in Uttar Kannada district, while he was returning to Goa from Dharmasthala in Karnataka.
Naik is being brought to Goa Medical College for further treatment, the official said.
Union minister of state for defence Shripad Naik was injured late on Monday, while his wife Vijaya died after the car they were travelling in met with an accident at Hosakambi village of Ankola taluk in Karnataka's Uttar Kannada district.

Union Minister Shripad Naik and his wife met with an accident near a village in Ankola Taluk of Uttara Kannada district on Monday. They were enroute Gokarna from Yellapur when the incident took place. A Police case registered. While the union minister is said to be critical, his wife has succumbed to her injuries.

Shripad Naik is reportedly critical and has been moved to Goa for treatment. He has been admitted to the Goa Medical College (GMC) in Bambolim.
