A minor blast took place on Friday evening near the Israel embassy at Central Delhi’s APJ Abdul Kalam Road, ANI reported. A low-intensity improvised explosive device detonated at 5.05 pm, according to the Delhi Police. However, no injuries or damage to personal properties were reported, except shattered windscreens of cars parked nearby.
Delhi Police Additional Public Relations Officer Anil Mittal said that initial impressions indicate that the blast could be a mischievous attempt to create a sensation, reported PTI.

The blast was than 1.4 km from Vijaya Chowk, where President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior government members had gathered.
A “very low-intensity” IED (improvised explosive device) was detonated near the Israeli embassy in the heart of central Delhi at 5.05 pm on Friday, the police said, adding that no injuries or property damage, apart from shattered windscreens of nearby cars, had been reported.
“A very low intensity improvised device went off… No injury to any person was reported… nor was there any damage to property, except the glass panes of three vehicles parked nearby,” Anil Mittal, a Delhi Police spokesperson, was quoted by news agency PTI.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has issued alert at all airports, important installations and government buildings in view of a low-intensity explosion reported in the national capital on Friday evening. Enhanced security measures have been put in place, CISF added.
