Organizational Setting
The Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) comprises four main functional areas: internal audit, investigation, management services and programme evaluation. In accordance with its Charter, OIOS provides the Director General and IAEA managers with objective, independent and systematic assessments for the purposes of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of programme delivery, and ensuring accountability, sound governance, risk management and internal control, and good management practice.
Main Purpose
As a member of the Investigation Group, under the general direction of the Director of OIOS, the Senior Investigator carries out special inquiries and investigations when there are indications that the IAEA’s regulations, rules, policies and administrative instructions may have been violated or where irregularities in activities may have come to light. The results of the preliminary inquiries and investigations are used to draw factual conclusions

The Director General’s Office (DGO) provid es guidance for planning and implementation to ensure all activities are undertaken within the Agency’s statutory mandate and in line with guidance of the guidance of the Policy Making Organs of the IAEA.
Main Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Special Assistant to the Director General for Nuclear Safety and Security (NS) and for Safeguards (SG) and other senior professionals in DGO, the Coordination Officer provides advice, liaison and support to policy development, coordination and implementation. The Coordination Officer assists in research and analysis, review and clearance of various reports and correspondence.
