Kakis are not just for eating, they can also be drunk
Los Cervecéuticos, a company based in the Spanish municipality of Xàtiva and specialized in so-called signature beers, has just launched a new beer in tribute to one of the most representative fruits of Ribera del Xúquer: kakis, a product linked to the region even by a Designation of Origin.
As stated by the firm, this is a beer with the exuberance of an IPA; hoppy and fruity, but with the friendly character of the Ribera kakis.
The kakis used for its production are not the conventional ones available on supermarket shelves, but rather the fruit grown in La Ribera which has not been subjected to the treatment that removes its original astringency. We only use the pieces harvested with a millenary Japanese natural technique that is now also being implemented in La Ribera, says José Vicente Jordán, director of Los Cervecéuticos.
