If you’re in Vegas with Mom over Mother’s Day, celebrate with one of these oh-so-fabulous brunches, breakfasts or treats, and just like that, you’re back in the will!
Give mom a great meal along with a spectacular view at the
Eiffel Tower Restaurant (
Paris, 702.948.6937). In addition to enjoying a $59 prix fixe, three-course menu featuring lobster Benedict, creme brûlée French toast and other goodies, you cannot beat the view from the half-scale French landmark. How thoughtful!
Check in for breakfast on the patio at Salt & Ivy (
Aria, 877.230.2742) for a lovely start to Mother’s Day. The restaurant features humongous Dutch baby pancakes in several varieties veggie, serrano ham and Mahon cheese, and a lemon curd and blueberry beauty that could even serve as a shareable dessert.

The weather is just starting to hint at getting warmer and you are thinking already about the places you want to go and the hidden spots you want to investigate. Good for you, get out there!
Here are 5 distilleries that are located to the north of us in Columbia County, in no particular order:
Hillrock Distillery, I have been here a few times, gorgeous location and great whiskey. This is one of the local whiskeys that is on the higher price point, but worth tasting. When I was there the tasting cost a few bucks, but then they give that money back to you if you purchase a bottle. The first distiller here, was also behind the Whistle Pig and Blackened Whiskey projects, among others.

Out-of-town hunters descend in droves upon Rifle every year to navigate the rugged, Western Slope terrain as they try to bag their share of trophy elk.
In the meantime, some stop at Whistle Pig Coffee Stop & Cafe, a quaint downtown hot spot on Third Street that serves gourmet coffee, breakfast and lunch fare.
“We have a family from Georgia that comes in every hunting season, and we connected with them the first year,” owner Samm Young said. “Every year they come back to us. They follow us on Facebook and comment on all our stuff.”
After more than five years of catering to both locals and hunter-orange visitors, however, Young has decided to put the Whistle Pig up for sale. The reason: Young’s having a baby with her boyfriend, David Garcia.

Let chef David Pitula s meal kits nourish you on your next Colorado getaway.Denise Mickelsen •
Colorado mountain towns have become Denverites’ premier vacation destinations for winter 2021. But what to eat in your condo/cabin/hut away from home? Leave that to Whistling Boar, whose Weekender Box feeds two (at least); it will feel as if chef-owner David Pitula is in your rental kitchen with you. He and his wife and work partner, Debbie Seaford-Pitula, procure, prep, and pack into eco-friendly containers everything you’ll need to dine exquisitely. Snacks (think: hand-cut potato chips with ranch for dipping and meat-and-cheese assortments) come ready to eat, while locally sourced meals (two brunches, a salad, and two main courses with two sides each) require basic cooking or reheating via Pitula’s written instructions. Whipping up, say, a French toast feast is a simple matter of soaking challah in the provided custard; pan-frying it, along with SkyPilot Farm sausage links a
