Four New York state senators have called on the chairman of the powerful Investigations and Government Operations Committee to begin an investigation into a deadly mandate of co-mingled COVID-19 residents in group homes, where 552 have died.
An additional 32 care workers who were forced into the infectious homes have also died, according to records from the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, which oversees group homes. Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s April 10, 2020 order placed infected patients in the state’s more than 7,000 group homes, similar to a nursing home policy. The policy resulted in 6,382 disabled residents and 10,311 workers contracting COVID-19.

Friday, March 12, 2021 Only four legislative days remain of the 2021 30-day session of the Kentucky General Assembly as of Friday, March 12. With the end in sight, fellow lawmakers and I are wrapping up legislative efforts by passing legislation in the closing days.

The General Assembly needs to pass most bills by Tuesday, March 16, so that enough time is left to consider any veto overrides that may be necessary. The legislature will recess on Tuesday, March 16 and will reconvene on Monday, March 29. During the recess period, the Governor will have time to consider bills that have arrived on his desk. He may sign them into law, allow them to become law without his signature, or veto them. BUFFALO, N.Y. As you might imagine with politicians, positions can vary widely even with party affiliations. We got lots of feedback from our Western New York lawmakers in Albany Monday on the question of whether the governor should resign or not with the impeachment option still not clear.
As you might guess most Republicans here in Western New York feel that Governor Andrew Cuomo should resign while many, but not all, Democrats say not yet with very nuanced comments.
