It would be very difficult to put one need, even one very important sector, above the others. They re all important, said Jennifer Angel, CEO of Develop Nova Scotia. What we have done is tasked our private-sector internet service provider partners with telling us what is the most efficient way to roll this out across the province, so we get everyone as quickly as we can.
As part of the industry survey, members of the Nova Scotia Seafood Alliance and the Aquaculture Association of Nova Scotia were asked to rate their internet and cell service on a scale from one to five, with one being lowest. They were also asked to provide upload and download speeds.

Record-breaking prices for snow crab at the wharf in Neils Harbour have fishermen pleased.
Soaring demand from the U.S. has resulted in snow crab coming in at over $8 a pound. The price was closer to $4.25 this time last year.
Dave Donovan fishes out of Neils Harbour on board the Krista & Megan. Eight dollars is a big bonus, he said. I guess it s the best price I ve ever seen since I ve been in the fishery.
Donovan said the hot market this year is welcomed by all on the wharf, and in the processing plant.

Seafood processing facilities in Cape Breton are investing in air cleaning technology to help keep workers safe from COVID-19.
Victoria Co-operative Fisheries in Neil s Harbour is spending more than $80,000 on air purification systems for its processing facility, offices and worker accommodations. We were in the middle of a major overhaul at our processing facility with new equipment and a building addition, said general manager Osborne Burke on Thursday. We believed it was the right way to go. Timing was right. Let s install it while we re doing construction and have it operational for the 2021 season.
