Drilling works and equipping of approximately 300 boreholes with human-powered pumps as part of (PASSCO 2) a project to improve sanitary conditions in schools and rural areas in Togo, particularly in the Kara and Savannah regions were launched in Kousoungou (Savannah region) on Friday, February 26th, 2021 by Togolese Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé.
This initiative, which is a part of the new government sheet, aims to improve access to drinking water in the targeted localities. More specifically, the project will increase the coverage rate in rural areas from 77% to 85% in the Kara regions, and from 67% to 72% in the Savanes region.
