Average UK house price jumps 10% during year of Covid-19 lockdowns Wed, 19th May 2021 12:50 (Alliance News) - The average UK house price has surged by GBP24,000 during the past year of coronavirus lockdowns, according to the Office for National Statistics. Property values jumped by 10% over the year to March 2021, marking the strongest annual growth rate the UK has seen since August 2007, its report said. The average UK property value reached a new record high of GBP256,000 in March 2021, which was GBP24,000 higher than in March 2020, the month that the UK lockdowns started. There were also signs that the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on preferences for different property types.
