According to the results of an investigation by property website Rightmove, Wycombe has a lot going for it. Community spirit, friendly natives, excellent transport connections, fantastic countryside with the Chilterns area of outstanding natural beauty on the doorstep - all these advantages helped to propel the town to the top of the regional ratings compiled by Rightmove following a national survey of 22,000 people.

Many developers building in Bucks are offering financial discounts as a thank you to those whose jobs are vital to keeping the country on an even keel. More than a thousand prospective homebuyers employed by the NHS have benefited from a helping hand from Barratt and David Wilson Homes in the past 12 months. The incentive provided by these two developers to help a new generation get a foot on the property ladder - five per cent towards the deposit for a house or flat - originally had a closing date in December but it has been extended for six months.
