30 dogs, over a dozen other animals and 4 kids removed from mobile home     WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (KDKA) Thirty American terrier pit bulls, four children and several other animals, some dead, were removed from a mobile home in Lawrence County. State police say when they arrived to the home on Rabbit Haven Lane in Washington Township Saturday, they found deplorable conditions. Children and Youth Services removed four school-age children from inside. Police then came back Sunday and executed a search warrant. They say animals were being kept in kennels and pet carriers with “excessive amounts of feces and urine-soaked pads and bedding.” Some kennels had more than one dog inside.

Township police Lt. John Kaufmann said the blaze started at 2:10 p.m. on Mine Hill Road. No one was home when flames ignited and there were no injuries, he said. The blaze significantly damaged the house with a witness reporting seeing flames shooting through the roof. It went to a second alarm with various agencies responding, including Washington Township Police, Washington Township Fire Co., Washington Borough Fire Dept., Oxford Fire Co., Mansfield Township Fire Dept., Hackettstown Fire Dept. and the Franklin Township Fire Dept., as well as Washington Emergency Medical Services, Franklin Township Emergency Medical Services, the Warren County Fire Coordinator, the Warren County Fire Marshal and the Washington Township Road Dept.
