U.S. Marshals on Wednesday arrested a man wanted on charges of selling drugs that resulted in an overdose death in Washington County, officials said.
Sherman Springer, known as “Detroit Shawn,” 48, had been on the run as a fugitive for more than seven months, since he was charged in late June in connection to the death of another person on April 15 in the city of Washington, court records show. He now is being held on $150,000 bail at Washington County Prison.
Officials did not disclose the name of the person who died after taking narcotics sold by Springer.

A Washington County man has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison for selling heroin and carrying a gun as a felon, federal prosecutors said.
Matthew Curtis McCombs, 34, who previously lived in the city of Washington, pleaded guilty in November 2019 to possessing with the intent to sell heroin and illegally carrying guns and ammunition, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said.
Upon release from his 112-month sentence, McCombs must spend three years on probation, according to the order by U.S. District Judge David Cercone.
Jackson police arrest man after discovering secret motel drug lab

JACKSON, Wis. - The Jackson Police Department arrested a man early Saturday morning, Jan. 23 after discovering a drug lab in a motel room.
According to a Facebook post, police responded to a 911 call to the motel, near WIS-60 and Center Street around 4:30 a.m. The caller, a 20-year-old man from Menomonee Falls, reported that he was possessed by the devil and admitted that he took a lot of drugs.
Responding officers found the man was under the influence and in need of medical assistance. In the motel room, officers found what appeared to be a homemade, clandestine drug lab. It was determined that the man had been making dimethyltryptamine (DMT) a Schedule I hallucinogenic substance.

No officers were injured in the incident near Southwest Hall Boulevard and Bonita Road, but one man was declared dead at the scene.
Tigard police are confirming that their officers were involved in a deadly shooting where a man was pronounced dead at the scene near Southwest Hall Boulevard and Bonita Road Wednesday evening. According to the Tigard Police Department s Twitter account, the Washington County Major Crimes Team is investigating the incident and the Washington County District Attorney s Office is on the scene as well.
No officers were injured.
Earlier this evening, Hall Boulevard between Bonita Road and Greensward Lane had been shut down due to the incident, police reported.
One officer was shot and treated at a hospital in Augusta for non-life-threatening injuries.
A Georgia corrections officer was shot and a man was killed after officers got into a shooting with men suspected of trying to smuggle contraband onto the grounds of a state prison, authorities say.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in news release that the shooting happened Sunday on the perimeter of Washington State Prison near Davisboro, about 120 miles (195 kilometers) southeast of Atlanta.
The state agency said K-9 officers with the Georgia Department of Corrections were responding to a suspected contraband drop. The officers got into a shooting with 26-year-old Marquavious Rashod Parks of Athens, the GBI said in a news release. Parks was found dead in a nearby pond.
