NEW ULM Early Childhood Screening in District 88 is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10, Thursday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. by appointment only.
This will be the last time ECFE (Early Childhood and Family Education) offers Early Childhood Screening this school year. Screening is available to any child who is between the ages of 3 years and Kindergarten.
During screening children will participate in an evaluation of speech, language, fine and gross motor skills, behavioral, social and emotional development, hearing and vision, height and weight measurement, immunization record, and a parental question and answer period will be included.

Ms. Eileen’s Eagles 4 Preschool of Washington Learning Center spread joy and kindness to friends at the Oak Hills Living Center Courtyard in New Ulm Wednesday morning and afternoon. Students sang, made angels, built snowmen and dropped off Valentines Day cards they made. Students usually visit Oak Hills monthly to sing, do crafts and sing from afar. Residents watched the students from inside Oak Hills.

ECFE Director
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and Eagles Preschool are Community Education programs that offer programming for children and their families from birth to kindergarten.
Our ECFE program held both in-person and virtual parent-child classes for families this fall. We offered four in-person sections, a virtual infant class, and our new Grab and Go bags for families not comfortable coming to the Washington Learning Center for class. In order to offer in-person classes, we limited the number of families in each class and then changed some from a 9-week session to two 5-week sessions in order to serve more families. We had 55 families take part in classes this fall! Registration for our next session of classes opened on Monday, January 10 with the first classes beginning in February.
