Barely two weeks after the shooting in Paniqui, Tarlac, another police sarge in trouble for firing his gun over an argument with a woman on proper parking in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
The Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now investigating another police sergeant who fired his gun during an argument over proper parking of a vehicle with his female neighbor in Talisay City in Negros Occidental on New Year’s Eve.
The incident occurred barely two weeks after Police Staff Sgt. Jonel Nuezca shot dead his two neighbors following a heated argument that stemmed from a land dispute in Paniqui. Nuezca is facing dismissal and now detained as two murder cases were filed against him.

The Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police (PNP-IAS) has started deploying its inspection teams in communist rebel-infected areas to ensure field units are prepared for possible attacks by the New People’s Army (NPA), which will mark its 52nd anniversary on Dec. 26.
IAS Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo said the priorities of the inspections are police stations and community precincts in areas where communist rebels are known to operate and with a history of NPA attacks.
He said the inspection teams are composed of IAS personnel whose job is to ensure that all the defense strategies and intelligence-gathering measures are properly done in order to prevent any attacks.

A police sergeant is now being investigated after he was accused of indiscriminately firing his handgun following a heated argument with a drinking buddy in New Lucena, Iloilo, an official of the Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Saturday.

Police Col. Roger James Brillantes, director of the PNP-IAS in Western Visayas, said part of the investigation is to determine if Police Staff Sgt. Agar Octaviano violated the quarantine protocol since policemen are prohibited from engaging in activities that may violate minimum health safety standard to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
