What was a twist in the current turned into the perfect send-off for two top blokes from the Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club this week. Clubbies young and old ventured into the ocean to say their last goodbyes to the late Lester Phelps and Sid Salek with a traditional paddle-out on Thursday when their circular shape started to form a love heart.

NSW crisis cabinet to convene on restrictions
NSW residents will learn today whether COVID-19 restrictions will be relaxed after the state recorded more than a week of zero locally acquired cases.
Last week, Premier Gladys Berejiklian signalled an easing of restrictions after Australia Day and will lead a crisis cabinet meeting today to discuss restrictions which were introduced after the northern beaches outbreak in December.

LACY LAKEVIEW, TX â Five officers and a dispatcher have been recognized after locating and talking down a young man who threatened to commit suicide while on Facebook Live.
On November 3, 2020, the Lacy Lakeview Police Department received information that a young man threatened to commit suicide and pointed a pistol to his head while he was on Facebook Live.
Dispatcher SueMarie Oliver, Officer Jonathan Newman, Officer Thomas Beasley, Detective Kevin Carter, Corporal Scott Dent and Sergeant Jason Higgins came together to not only locate the man but also get him mental help.
