The Sheridan County Board of Equalization met by zoom at 9 A.M. On March 16, 2021. Zoom ID 3358213334 Passcode 625274. Paul and Krotz present along with Sindy Coburn, County Clerk, Renee Thies, County Treasurer, Richard Cross, Road Superintendent, and Everette Langford, Deputy Sheriff. Paul stated that the meeting would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Nebraska Open Meeting Act. This meeting was posted on the official county website and published in the Sheridan County Journal Star on March 10, 2021. Krotz made a motion to accept the agenda. Paul seconded the motion. Gene Snyder
Woodallen Gene Snyder was born on May 22, 1944 in Gordon, Nebraska, the second of three children of Woodrow L. and Charlyn G. Watson Snyder. He died February 12, 2021 at the age of 76 years in the Cheyenne, Wyoming hospital. He grew up on a ranch south of Rushville, NE on Pine Creek. He attended elementary school grades 1-8 at District 98, known as the Mill School. Gene graduated from Rushville High School in 1962. He played football in high school and college. He attended Chadron State College for 3 years and then received his Doctor of Dentistry degree in 1969 from the University of Missouri Dental School in Kansas City, MO. He met the love of his life, Carol Sue Ward, while in dental school and they were married on August 19, 1967 in Burlington, KS. Three children were born to this union, Brian Gene, Kevin Dean and Angela Lynn.

The 2020-21 season for the Gordon-Rushville wrestling team culminated this past weekend with a trip to the NSAA State Wrestling Championships held at the CHI Center in Omaha.
Five Mustang wrestlers qualified for the tournament, the most for the program since 2010.
Here is a recap of the action for the Mustang wrestlers.
Freshman Tucker Banister Banister took the mat in the 120 weight class. His first bout was against Lance Olberding from Fort Calhoun who was a returning state qualifier. Banister lost by fall in the 2nd period. Olberding went on to finish fourth overall.
