A Beeville couple is continuing to offer healthy alternatives through various beverages in hopes to shape up the Live Oak County community drink by drink.
Live Oak County entered 2021 with a steady eye on the past as well as the future, as the commissioners court appointed a new head of the Live Oak County Historical Commission.
Mary Margaret Campbell, who previously served as vice chair of the commission, was appointed chair of the  organization for the next two years.
She succeeds Ross Harrison, who served as chair for 2019 and 2020.
After serving as director of George West Storyfest for a decade and leading the Dobie Dichos program, which promotes the works and legacy of Texas author J. Frank Dobie, many in the area are well acquainted with Campbell.

GEORGE WEST, Texas â If youâve ever been to Jalisco Mexico Taqueria in George West in Live Oak County, then you know youâll find an interesting crowd in this city of a little more than 2,500 people.
âGood people here,â Neco Mades Flores tells us. Heâs a regular and if you spot him, youâll always find him with a cup of coffee talking with some of his friends.
Going to the restaurant every morning and talking with his friends who are fellow veterans, brings this 78-year-old to life.
After nearly two years since the completion of its last season, Refugio Little League is ready to dust off the dirt and go sliding into competition once again.
The 2021 baseball and softball campaigns will begin in March, with sign-ups currently ongoing via the league’s website, tshq.bluesombrero.com. Drafting for teams in the league’s multiple divisions will take place in February.
Divisions begin at age 4, with a T-ball league through age 6. The coach-pitch division begins at 6 and goes to 8-year-old players, with the age range taking kids off the tee and facing off in the battersâ box against coaches.Â
