Volvo Group creates Volvo Energy business are to focus on batteries and infrastructure
The Volvo Group has created the new business area Volvo Energy to strengthen the Volvo Group’s business flow of batteries over the life cycle as well as the customer offer for charging infrastructure. Volvo Energy will be a business area with full profit and loss responsibility. It will have both an internal role, providing batteries and charging solutions to the Volvo Group’s other business areas, and an external role, offering used, remanufactured and refurbished batteries to customers for use across different applications.
Volvo Energy will also carry the Group’s responsibility for hydrogen infrastructure solutions for fuel cell electric vehicles. Collaborations with various business partners and actors across the ecosystem will be key.

Volvo Group announced its new business area, Volvo Energy, that will focus on commercial vehicle electrification by strengthening the company s battery and charging infrastructure offerings.
The company adds that the environmental impact from electric and hybrid commercial vehicles will be reduced by giving used batteries a second life in different applications.

Volvo Group has taken a leading industry position in the transition to electrification, currently offering electric vehicles and equipment ranging from city buses and trucks for construction, waste management and urban distribution, to compact excavators and loaders.
