VISAKHAPATNAM: The average speed of freight trains has presently been improved in the country compared with the conditions before the outbreak of Covid-19 in March last year.
According to the railway spokesperson of Waltair railway division of East Coast Railway at Visakhapatnam, the average speed of freight train in the country registered till March 11 was 45.49 kmph which is almost double compare to last year for the same period (23.29 kmph).
Similarly, the Railways achieved cumulative freight loading of 1145.68 million tonnes which is higher as compared to last year’s total cumulative loading of 1145.61 million tonnes.
