The Abominable Snow Baby
The UK’s Channel 4 has commissioned a one-off animated adaptation of a Terry Pratchett story to air at Christmas this year.
The Abominable Snow Baby was originally published in late fantasy author Pratchett’s Christmas story collection Father Christmas’ Fake Beard. It is being adapted for TV by UK prodco Eagle Eye Drama, which was launched by Channel 4-owned Walter Presents in 2019.
Narritivia, the indie prodco Pratchett founded in 2012 before his death in 2015, is also producing the half-hour show. In the story, a quaint English town is thrown into chaos by the arrival of a 14-foot ‘abominable snow baby,’ but things change thanks to a local woman and her grandson.

France tv distribution Secures New Drama Sales

Ahead of MIPTV, France tv distribution has confirmed new sales for several best-selling series from its drama catalog.
The company has struck a new partnership deal with Walter Presents, Global Series Network’s VOD platform.
Something to Hide (Thalie Images) and
The Wagner Method (Incognita Films) are traveling to the U.K., where Walter Presents is available on Channel 4 and its streaming platform All 4; and North America, where the shows will be launched online in the U.S. and Canada on Walter Presents via PBS Masterpiece on Prime Video Channels, and in the U.S. only on Walter Presents via Comcast Xfinity X1 and Roku.
