WALTON HILLS, Ohio (WOIO) - K9 Aro passed away on June 4, less than one day after he worked his last shift. The station threw the canine a retirement party yesterday before he worked his last shift from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. this morning. Shortly after Aro’s shift, his handler Sgt. Mike Gervase took Aro to an animal hospital in Copley and it looked like there was fluid in Aro’s lungs, according to Walton Hills Police Chief Stan Jaworski.

Former Ford plant in Brook Park sells for $31.5 million Michelle Jarboe/Crain s Cleveland Business Real estate developers recently paid $31.5 million for a former Ford Motor Co. engine plant in Brook Park. The 195-acre site had been on the market since 2018. How much is a former Ford Motor Co. plant worth? In Brook Park, the answer is $31.5 million. A joint venture among real estate developers Weston Inc., the DiGeronimo Cos. and Scannell Properties acquired the long-shuttered Cleveland Engine Plant No. 2 last week, according to public records. The 1.7 million-square-foot complex sits on a 195-acre site along Snow Road, east of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. It s located south of the automaker s Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1, which is still operating.

Foundation aims to honor veterans from all United States engagements

When it is all done, every war the United States has ever fought on will have a stone memorial at the park, said Kathryn Krasnicki, the historian for the Nordonia Hills Veterans Memorial Park Foundation. We are taking it all the way back to the American War of Independence, Krasnicki said. Right now, we have the War on Terror through World War I. The World War I memorial was installed in 2018, to commemorate the anniversary of the end of what was then called The Great War, Krasnicki said.
