It’s a significant coup for Wollongong as it’s the only time an Australian city or region has been awarded the prestigious label. The UCI Bike City Label recognises Wollongong’s long-term commitment to delivering an improved cycling experience for everyone. With the 2022 UCI Road World Cycling Championships coming to Wollongong in September 2022 we’re excited to share the UCI Bike City Label news with our community.

Development application for innovative concept submitted The University of Wollongong has lodged a Development Application to Wollongong City Council seeking approval for a masterplan concept for Phase 1 of the proposed world-class Health and Wellbeing Precinct. The phase 1 masterplan concept is specifically for a 3.5-hectare area located at the southern end of the University’s Innovation Campus at Fairy Meadow, which is estimated to cost $250 million to build and will deliver more than $600 million in increased economic output to the region during construction. Announced in 2018, the University’s Health and Wellbeing Precinct is a ground-breaking concept that combines health research and teaching with patient-centred, multidisciplinary health facilities and independent housing for over 55s.

The changes are as follow: Entry from New South Wales People travelling from New South Wales (other than a Restricted Location) into South Australia from 12.01am Sunday 31 January are no longer required to receive COVID-19 testing. Restricted Locations of the Greater Sydney Region, Central Coast Council local government area and Wollongong City Council local government areas have been added to the Direction.
