Warrington Borough Council has confirmed 825 of these have been empty for six months or longer. Officers are currently unable to say how many have been empty for five years of longer, as the authority is part way through council tax billing for the next financial year. Among the concerns raised in their report were risks to people s health, safety and wellbeing and a lack of knowledge or experience from staff. Inspectors also noted how the service, which is based at Warrington Business Park in Orford, did not always have adequate measures in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
