WARREN Police are investigating why two 7-year-old twin girls were being left home alone as they attended online classes with Warren City Schools.
School liaisons met with a police officers about 1 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 800 block of Willard Avenue SE. According to a police report, a teacher told the liaisons that while she was teaching online, she found the two girls were home alone. The girls told the officer their mother has a job and she works from about 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day when they are left alone.
The girls told the officer they were not allowed to cook or open the door to strangers. In inspecting the home, the officer found it to be clean and odor free with appropriate food in the house, the report states, and the twins were dressed neatly and healthy. The officer contacted the girls’ adult sister, who took custody of the children.
