Alana Matheson, the former Liberal deputy mayor of Campbelltown who has worked for the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and for KPMG - and who is the daughter of two-term Liberal MP Russell Matheson - was appointed to the $387,960 per annum post as a Fair Work Commissioner on April 1.

Australia’s $15 billion Inland Rail project from Melbourne would be more than $4 billion cheaper if it used Toowoomba as a hub for local freight rather than extending to Brisbane, a study shows.
International freight, however, would be transported by rail from Toowoomba, through the Surat Basin, then exported from Gladstone, not Brisbane, the study released in February by AEC Group consultants shows.
Gladstone is asserting its case to be considered the destination of Australia’s now $15 billion Inland Rail project.

Richard Wankmuller to retire as ARTC Inland Rail CEO
After three years at the helm, Mr Richard Wankmuller will be retiring mid this year as Chief Executive Officer of Inland Rail at the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC).
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack thanked Mr Wankmuller for his contribution to the delivery of Inland Rail.
“I want to thank Richard Wankmuller for his leadership of the Inland Rail program and recognise the valued contribution he has made to this nationally significant infrastructure project,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
“Under his stewardship the project has moved from early design through to construction, delivering significant local benefits in regional Australia at a time when we need it most.
