Drunken NJ Man Punches Officer After Brawl At Indiana Rest Stop, Authorities Say

Read / Add Comments A New Jersey man was drunk when he got into a brawl at a rest stop in Indiana and then punched a responding police officer, authorities said. Parwinder Kang, 42, of Mt. Holly, battered another individual at the Pilot Travel Center on Warrenton Road near Haubstadt Indiana around 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 16, the Gibson County Sheriff s Office said in a release. Mr. Kang was an extreme state of intoxication and was verbally and physically noncompliant with officers during the investigation, authorities said.  Kang was booked in the Gisbon County Jail on charges of battery, public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, and battery on a law enforcement officer.

Homicide one of two shootings in Stafford over weekend Two shootings and a suspicious package at a 7-Eleven made for a busy weekend in Stafford County for the Sheriff’s Department. At 10:15 am on Sunday, deputies were called to shots fired call at 1130 International Parkway, near 6 Bears and a Goat Brewery. Once they arrived, they found a man in his 40s with a gunshot wound, sheriff’s spokesman Shawn Kimmitz told viewers in a video posted to the department’s Facebook page. A suspect, who was described as a white male in his 40s or 50s, was found nearby with a handgun, said Kimmitz. Deputies shot the suspect, said Kimmitz. Both he and the victim are now in a hospital being treated for critical injuries.

(WWBT) - Police say a 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged after stealing a vehicle and leading police on a pursuit. On Jan. 12, at 3:39 p.m., a deputy noticed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Warrenton Road and Stork Road. After activating the vehicle’s emergency equipment to do a traffic stop, the vehicle did not stop and made an abrupt U-turn on Warrenton Road in front of upcoming traffic.

Driver leads Stafford deputy on chase A Fredericksburg man is facing multiple charges after he fled a traffic stop and led deputies on a pursuit. On Saturday, December 19 at 11:47 p.m., Deputy M.A. Pearce was on patrol when he observed a vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Melchers Drive and Warrenton Road in Falmouth. The vehicle then drove at a high-rate of speed onto Warrenton Road. The deputy was able to catch up to the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop, according to Stafford sheriff’s office spokeswoman. The deputy discovered the driver’s license was revoked. He then asked the driver to turn off the engine and exit the vehicle. Instead, Nelson placed the car in drive and sped off. Deputy Pearce returned to his vehicle and gave chase.
