MCOP opens Health Hub at The Opportunity Center The Orchard East Health Hub is opening at The Opportunity Center at ALCC as a project of Monroe County Opportunity Program, providing a site for a range of health and medical services. MCOP handles operations at the Opportunity Center, formerly known as the Arthur Lesow Community Center, 120 Eastchester St. MCOP said this effort fits in with its mission as a Community Action Agency to reduce the effects of poverty by empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and mobilizing resources. The Orchard East Health Hub is the first to be designated a Community Health Hub in Monroe County. Services will be available both for those with health insurance and those who do not have health insurance.

Vermont Student Assistance Corp. is marking three decades of success in the Educational Opportunity Center, a federally funded outreach program that helps Vermont adults access college and career training services that will build the foundation for successful careers. “As we work to grow our economy, the Educational Opportunity Center is an important resource to help Vermonters gain the skills and training needed to succeed in the workforce and career opportunities in Vermont,” Governor Scott said. “Combined with the Advancement Grant, the EOC program guides and provides funding for Vermonters on their chosen career pathways.”

CHAPEL HILL – UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Entrepreneurship (Eship) Center, an affiliated center of the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, announced Tuesday that affiliated-faculty at the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) and the Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative (Duke I&E) are participating with the Eship Center, Opportunity Hub (OHUB) and 100 Black Angels and Allies Fund, to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems. The goal of this collaboration and engagement from multiple institutions is to address issues like DEI at a systemic organizational level, and to create more equitable ecosystems through the delivery of education, best practices, and actionable frameworks.

Stanford and Duke join certification program to boost diversity education with investors and the C-suite A partnership between the University of North Carolina’s Kenan Flagler Entrepreneurship Center, the Opportunity Hub and 100 Black Angels and Allies Fund, set up to improve representation and support of diverse founders in the tech industry, is getting more heavy-hitting partners from Duke and Stanford. As part of the partnership, faculty affiliated with Stanford and Duke will join educators to staff the DEIS Practicum Certificate and Black Technology Ecosystem Investment Certificate programs, which, respectively, try to address ways in which management can engage in diversity and inclusion in a systemic way beyond simply human resources hires and equity in compensation and ways in which more Black investors can become involved in backing startups.
