Noble s Got Talent takes grandstand stage

KENDALLVILLE — A magician, dancers, singers, instrumentalists and a comedian are among the contestants for the 2021 “Noble County’s Got Talent” show Thursday at 7 p.m. in the grandstand at the Noble County Fair. Admission is $5 per person. Chet Smith of Albion will be master of ceremonies for the evening. Smith has emceed multiple events, including the Miss Noble County Pageant and the Chain O’ Lakes Festival parade. Josh Ogle, theater director at East Noble High School, is the show’s producer. Judges include Chris Spalding of the Fort Wayne Ballroom Company and Jen Netting, who has directed productions for Gaslight Playhouse and worked with multiple Fort Wayne area theater organizations.

City leaders to take stage for improv night

KENDALLVILLE — Kendallville council member Corey Boese and Police chief Lance Waters will be guest stars for Gaslight Playhouse’s improvisation program Friday, June 18, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Registration deadline looms for Gaslight children s theater workshop

KENDALLVILLE —Students who will be in grades 2-8 for the 2021-22 school year are invited to register for Gaslight Playhouse’s annual Children’s Theater Workshop in June. Performance dates are June 25 and 26 for a production of “Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure” at The Community Learning Center, 401 E. Diamond St. Rehearsals will also be held there. The enrollment fee is $50 per child, and $40 for each additional family member. Forms and payment information are available on the Gaslight Playhouse website: www.gaslightplayhouse.org . The deadline to register is Wednesday. Gaslight Playhouse is Noble County’s longest-operating community theater organization, bringing quality theater productions to the community and promoting the arts. Its mission is “Entertain. Collaborate. Educate.” Gaslight Playhouse is supported by a local board of directors and is headquartered at The Community Learning Center.

CLC s schedule filling up with May activIties

The May schedule is: KPC Senior Expo — May 18, 8 a.m. to noon. Foster Parent Fair & Information Session May 21, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Noble County is low on foster parents so they are offering a fair for potential and existing parents to help them find resources for things for the kids. Some of the booths that will be there is the park department’s summer camp, East Noble, Gaslight Playhouse, the CLC’s art camp, and others. The evening will follow up with a movie in our auditorium. Information is at thecommunitylearningcenter.com. Creative Arts Sewing: Doll Clothes — May 19, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cost: $10. Shirley Johnson will be teaching how to make doll clothes for their American Girl dolls or other 18-inch dolls. Paper piecing will be another fun one if we can get a group to sign up.
