Hyderabad: The Ramagundam police in Telangana has arrested three accused in connection with a lawyer couple s murder. Lawyer couple - Gattu Waman Rao and his wife PV Nagamani - were brutally hacked to death on a highway in full public view on Wednesday near a petrol bunk on the main road of Kalvacharla v/o Ramagiri zone in Godavarikhani sub-division of Peddapalli district under Ramagundam Commissionerate.

Gattu Vaman Rao and Nagmani - who hailed from Hyderabad attended a function at the court in Manthani and were returning when they were waylaid and hacked to death.

The lawyer couple had last year filed a PIL about the alleged custodial death of a Dalit man, Seelam Rangaiah, who was found hanging in the toilet of the Manthani police station.

New Delhi: A lawyer couple from Telangana was on Wednesday hacked to death by unidentified assailants on a road in broad daylight, near Ramagundam, news reports said.
According to the
Hindu, lawyers Gattu Vaman Rao and P.V. Nagamani were attacked around 3 pm while they were returning to Hyderabad in their car after attending a court case in Manthani. They were practising lawyers at the Telangana high court in Hyderabad.

Telangana Police on Thursday arrested three persons including a leader of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in connection with the gruesome murder of an advocate couple.
Kunta Srinivas, the main accused and President of the ruling party s Manthani mandal unit, was among the arrested.
Inspector General of Police (North Zone) Y. Nagi Reddy announced the arrests on Thursday night. Chiranjeevi and Akkapaka Kumar are the two other accused taken into custody.
A few hours before the police official announced the arrests, the TRS suspended Srinivas from the party with immediate effect.
Srinivas and Chiranjeevi were arrested between Wankedi and Chandrapur in Maharashtra.

Hyderabad: A local leader of the ruling TRS in Telangana and two others were arrested in connection with the gruesome killing of a lawyer couple. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party suspended him while advocates staged protests against the fatal attack on Thursday.
TRS Manthani mandal unit president Kunta Srinivas along with another person allegedly commenced the murderous attack on Gattu Vaman Rao and his wife P V Nagamani on February 17, as he bore some personal grudge, police said, ruling out any political reason behind the killing as of now.
