Two Shreveport Area Guys Have Big Weekends At Two PGA Events Two different Shreveport area golfers had big weekends at two different PGA event this weekend. First, former Calvary star Sam Burns won his first PGA Tour event at the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida. He finished -17 under, winning by three strokes over Keegan Bradley. After winning three state titles at Calvary, he went on to play golf at LSU. While golfing for the Tigers, Burns won four of his 15 tournaments during his sophomore year while locking down some major awards. In 2017, Burns was named First Team All-SEC, SEC Player of the Year, First Team All-American, and was the NCAA Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year.
