The Cold Weather Payment scheme pays eligible people who have experienced periods of very cold weather in their area a £25 payment for during that particular time. The scheme doesn t run year round however, and it is just weeks to go until it will end.

The Cold Weather Payment scheme is designed to help Britons during particularly freezing weather, which many parts of the UK have experienced recently. Eligible people will receive a payment if the average temperature in their area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below over seven consecutive days. The Cold Weather Payment scheme runs from November 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, which still means there is ample time for Britons to benefit from a payout.
