COLD weather is being experienced across much of the UK, and that means many will have no choice but to rely on their heating systems to keep warm. In order to help with the additional costs, some may qualify for financial support via the Cold Weather Payment scheme.

Pension saving can be a difficult endeavour, particularly for those who are currently feeling a financial pinch, and circumstances are likely to have changed in recent months. Many will have had their usual working lives uprooted through furlough, and self-employed people may be in receipt of government grants. Martin went on to explain: “When you pay it off in the month is neither hither nor tither, as long as you pay it off in full!
“What I would suggest you do is to set up a Direct Debit to clear this in full each month.”
This approach is likely to be advantageous for Britons looking to tackle any credit card arrangements they may have.

All Britons will need to do is enter the first half of their postcode and press ‘continue’ to determine if any Cold Weather Payment has been triggered.
For example, if someone’s postcode is LS1 1AG, they will only need to enter LS1 into the postcode checker.
The DWP tool will then provide Britons with information about whether their postcode is due a payment, and how often.
It uses local weather stations to determine the temperature in a person’s area.
