Waldoboro Forest Fire Raises Concerns Over Fire Safety If your travels take you to Waldoboro in the next day or so be aware of a fire that local fire departments and Maine forest crews are still working to put out. This is a forest fire that began Sunday afternoon and has claimed over 6 acres of land thus far and although it has been contained, it is still active. Smoke and helicopters with buckets attached have been seen in the Wagner Bridge road area of Waldoboro tending to the fire that is not accessible by fire trucks. According to a news report by WCSH-TV the fire remains active but officials say that it has been contained. As of this time no houses have been damaged by the fire only land however with the current dry conditions experienced across the state this fire illustrates the danger present. Currently the Maine forrest service has not released a cause of how this fire began.
