Wanted Felon Arrested After Break in of Home in Iberia Parish
Dwight Williams, a felon wanted on a slew of charges following a home invasion in February, was arrested once again on the same charge following another home break in Thursday morning.
In fact, Williams now faces another slew of charges after Iberia Parish Sheriff s deputies say they found him inside the home in the 1800 block of Wanda Street after they were called out around 9:00 AM.

Commissioners approve sale of former animal shelter
SIDNEY – The Shelby County commissioners accepted a bid for the sale of the former animal shelter and awarded bids for road and bridge projects during the month of March.
The commissioners accepted a bid of $30,000 from Lynda Lukey and Ashlie Moran for the sale of the old animal shelter at 1100 Clem Road, Sidney, on March 25.
The commissioners opened six bids for the County Road 25A improvement project on March 11 and on March 16 awarded the contract to Spearman Brothers, Inc. The contract amount is $370,847.
They opened one bid for the 2021 resurfacing program on March 11 and on March 16 awarded the contract to Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. The contract amount is $939,308.20.
A man who is accused of choking and shooting at his girlfriend nearly two weeks ago is still on the loose and Iberia Parish Sheriff s deputies need your help trying to find him.
According to a press release from the Sheriff s Office, Dwight Williams allegedly broke into the victim s home in the 1800 block of Wanda Street in Iberia Parish around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23. Deputies say he began choking her. She then ran out of the house and Williams allegedly fired several shots at her. All of this allegedly happened in front of the girlfriend s juvenile daughter.

An Iberia Parish man is wanted after police say he allegedly broke into his girlfriend s home, assaulted her and fired several shots at her.
Deputies say the incident happened on Tuesday, February 23 at 6:30 pm in the 1800 block of Wanda Street in the parish.
The Sheriff s Office says that Dwight Williams allegedly forced his way into his girlfriend s home and physically assaulted her by choking.
The victim was able to escape the residence but was followed by Williams who, deputies say, fired several shots at her.

Officers were called that evening to the 4900 block of Wanda Street in South Dallas, near Elsie Faye Heggins and South Lamar streets, where they found Vance face down alongside the road. He had been shot several times.
