Rebuilding Macon receives $25,000 in grant funding from local charity The Community Foundation of Central Georgia awarded 32 nonprofit organizations with grant funding. Rebuilding Macon is just one of 32 nonprofits to receive grant funding from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. Executive director Debra Rollins says they received a total of $25,000. Over the years, we ve heard from people across Macon who got repairs on their homes and the volunteers who helped make it possible. Now, the work can continue thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, a charity that gave out $600,000 of grant money to nonprofits in the area.

The Mentors Project of Bibb County announced Monday that they created an education fund for 2-year-old Zemirah Knight.  Doctors also presented the family with masks bearing Knight s badge number to wear at Tuesday s funeral service. Knight s uncle, Willie Knight Jr., expressed his gratitude to everyone who has shown love to their family in the past week.

Ariel comes to Macon from Greenville, South Carolina where she worked for Fox Carolina as a photojournalist for 4 years. She was part of the team that won a Southeast Emmy for their coverage of Hurricane Dorian. During her time in Greenville she realized her true passion is on-air reporting. She s excited to join the Middle Georgia community to be able to tell the stories of the people who live there. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 2014 with a degree in Mass Communications. She’s originally from Boca Raton, Florida. She has 2 dogs (1 is back home) and a cat. When she s not at work she can be found training as an aerialist or exploring her new home.
