Law Firm Recognition & Honors
The National Law Journal recognized Robinson+Cole Managing Partner Rhonda J. Tobin on its list of 2021 Insurance Law Trailblazers. She was recognized for her 30 years of experience representing insurance companies in arbitration, litigation and mediation involving reinsurance and insurance coverage. Tobin has represented insurers in cases involving the September 11 attacks, the coronavirus pandemic and the #MeToo movement.
Tobin was the first woman to lead Robinson+Cole as a managing partner, and served on the firm’s Managing Committee for the last 12 years, and has been a chair of the firm’s Litigation Section for 13 years.

RALEIGH Campbell Law School is saddened to announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” Fuller Blanchard.
In February 2018, the law school’s impactful Blanchard Community Law Clinic was named in honor of the legal pioneer and servant leader.
“The impact of Charlie’s support of the Blanchard Community Law Clinic, which carries his name, cannot be overstated,” explained Clinic Director Ashley Campbell. “With his generous contribution, we have trained more than 100 lawyers, and have attempted to imbue them with the qualities that Charlie exemplified – character, intelligence, professionalism, kindness and leadership. With Charlie’s gift, we have changed the lives of hundreds of low-income people for the better. We have engaged volunteer lawyers in service to their community, as Charlie encouraged us to do. Enforcement discretion has long been a standard administrative agency prerogative. Recently, the practice of agency nonenforcement took the stage as nine states and some nongovernmental organizations brought lawsuits against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencyâs (EPA) temporary enforcement policy published amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
