Wombo generates an AI-powered video that moves a person in a photo so they
look like they are singing and dancing along to a song.
Recently, these lip-synced videos have been gaining popularity on Twitter, where users have been using photos of themselves or photos of celebrities to make them sing songs like “Funkytown,” “YMCA,” and more. Although the list of song choices is limited, the options are still pretty good.
Naturally, we decided to put some Penn State figures up on center stage with the app, and we were not disappointed.
The Nittany Lion
As weird as it seems, the Nittany Lion gives off the same vibes as Shrek. Don’t believe me? You can totally see it when the Nittany Lion sings “All-Star” by Smash Mouth.
Saturday was the second day of THON 2021’s virtual live stream. Things started off quietly with a few stretches, but the energy picked up with some awesome musical performances.
THON’s third and final day is on, but in case you missed Saturday, here are a few of the most memorable moments.
Penn State Announces 2021 Homecoming Theme
Penn State homecoming took over THON’s livestream to announce the 2021 theme:
“Our theme, to me, reflects not only our organization itself but the world as a whole during times of hardships,” one executive committee member said on the livestream. “It represents taking experiences from the past and moving forward toward a brighter future.
Sue Paterno, a longtime Special Olympics Pennsylvania supporter and board member, joined more than 1,600 people in taking part in a virtual “Polar Pop” challenge this week.
The virtual event asks supporters to pop a balloon filled with ice water over their heads to raise money and support for Special Olympics Pennsylvania.
Adorned in a Penn State poncho, Paterno took part in the challenge alongside Matt Prosek, a Centre County Special Olympics volunteer and athlete. Noting she doesn’t like the cold, Paterno strapped on a Darth Vader helmet before taking the plunge.
“I love the athletes and I love what we do with them,” Paterno said.
