Of the 57% who said they haven’t been vaccinated, 21% said they definitely or probably won’t get vaccinated.

According to the poll, conducted by the Bay Area Council, a public-policy advocacy organization, of the 57% who said they haven’t yet been vaccinated, 21% said they definitely or probably won’t get vaccinated. This is likely to pose a challenge for public health officials working to end the pandemic by achieving herd immunity, though according the the World Health Organization it is not yet known what percentage of the population needs to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.

Survey Reveals Nearly a Quarter of North Bay Residents Do Not Plan on Getting Vaccinated

A large number of people in the North Bay appear to be hesitant to get vaccinated. A new survey from the Bay Area Council shows that 23-percent of North Bay residents are hesitant to get vaccinated, and probably or definitely will not get vaccinated. The survey was of 1,000 registered voters in the 9 Bay Area counties, and the North Bay showed the most reluctance to get vaccinated. The survey also shows that 44-percent of those in the North Bay have been vaccinated. Thirty-three percent of those surveyed said they had not yet been vaccinated but were willing to get a vaccine. The North Bay is defined in the survey as Sonoma, Marin, Napa and Solano counties. In Sonoma County, over 105-thousand individuals have been fully vaccinated.
