(Photo courtesy Sophie Davis) Bay Chamber Concerts and Music School is accepting applications for the Envision Chamber Music Workshop, a week-long music camp for young musicians ages 8-18. This year’s program will begin Monday, August 2, 2021 and conclude on Friday, August 6, 2021 with a performance on the final afternoon of the program. The daily schedule is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an hour break in the middle of the day for lunch. Daily rehearsals and coachings will be balanced with time for other musical workshops and outdoor activities – following careful COVID safety precautions.

Killoran, M.D. ROCKPORT  Dr. Paul Joseph Killoran died peacefully at his home in Rockport, surrounded by his family on May 31, 2020, one month shy of his 91st birthday. He lived a long, rich life, finally succumbing to Parkinson’s disease.  He was born on June 27, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, the first child of Dr. Vincent Ambrose Killoran and Lorine Marie (Archambeault) Killoran. He grew up in Sandusky, Ohio, where he attended Sandusky High School and would spend his summers in and around the lakes of Ontario, Canada. He attended Harvard College graduating in 1950, followed by Boston University School of Medicine, graduating in 1954. He started his medical training at the University of Utah, completing an internship in 1955. He then spent two years in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne Division as a General Medical Officer.

ROCKPORT Dr. Elizabeth “Betty” Eilers Killoran, wife of the late Dr. Paul Killoran, died peacefully at her home in Rockport surrounded by her six children on January 27, 2021, due to complications from bile duct cancer. She was 88. Elizabeth Anne Eilers was born on July 7, 1932, in Washington D.C., the youngest of two daughters. Her father worked for the Federal government, and her mother had a job with the civil service. She grew up near Rock Creek Park and the National Zoo, where she developed an early appreciation for the outdoors and observing wildlife. Her experiences living through the Great Depression and World War II also left her with a lasting commitment to a global world view, political engagement, community, and practical thrift. Elizabeth’s intellectual curiosity was insatiable, and she excelled academically. She graduated salutatorian from Central High School in 1950 and obtained a

(Photo courtesy Bay Chamber Concerts) Bay Chamber Concerts presents the virtual premiere of Coral Suite featuring Palaver Strings, Dana Lyn and Kyle Sanna, airing Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m., on Bay Chamber’s YouTube channel. Coral Suite is an evocative, multimedia performance that mirrors the life cycles and natural processes that occur within coral reef ecosystems. Drawing on the rich vocabulary of Irish melody, and using light boxes and animated projections featuring Dana Lyn’s artwork, Lyn and Sanna create an audiovisual poem for the reef, calling attention to the urgent need for its protection.
