In April of 2021 the Fire Chief of the Tallahassee Fire Department was directed by City Administrators to cut $1 million from his budget for the remainder of FY21. In that direction, the Fire Chief was told to entertain reduced services or reduced coverage to make up the shortfall. Due to the safety concerns these cuts would raise, both for the public and the members of the Fire Department, the Tallahassee Professional Firefighters have requested that an audit be completed of the Fire Services Fund. Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) head and DQR Implementation supervisor Lemuel Ortonio said they already received a communication from the Department of Information and Communications Technology in November 2020 regarding the planned centralization of the contact tracing system to the StaySafe.ph app.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases issued on February 26, 2021, that StaySafe.ph will be the primary contact tracing system, while the Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage (S-PaSS) travel management system will be institutionalized as the one-stop-shop application/communication for travelers.

Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) head and DQR Implementation supervisor Lemuel Ortonio said in a radio interview on Friday, March 12, that this was based on their statistical reports more than a month since the DQR became mandatory.
