Texas senior QB Sam Ehlinger has accepted an invitation to the Reese s Senior Bowl. Ehlinger (6 3/225) will leave Austin as one of Texas best quarterbacks when it comes to his individual numbers. In four seasons he completed 62.5 percent of his passes, throwing for 11,276 yards and 93 touchdowns with 27 interceptions. Ehlinger was also productive on the ground, rushing for 1,912 yards and 33 touchdowns during his Longhorn career. He will likely be a Day 3 selection in this spring s draft, as the quarterback class projects to be quite dee
“We had a lot of young guys that stepped up in this game,” Robinson said.
The Longhorns are undefeated in four bowl games under Tom Herman, unbeaten as a head coach in five bowls overall.
“This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by some really dedicated young men that 10 months ago made a decision that they were going to go to work every day and do whatever it took to get through this season together,” Herman said. “And they did. We had our ups and downs, but they never wavered. They never gave up hope. They never gave up confidence. They kept playing for each other. I couldn’t be prouder of my team.”

SAN ANTONIO Casey Thompson passed for 170 yards and four touchdowns and No. 20 Texas overcame an injury to senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger and beat Colorado 55-23 in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Tuesday night.
Freshman running back Bijan Robinson had 183 yards on 10 carries with a TD for Texas (7-3).
The Longhorns are undefeated in five bowl games under Tom Herman.
Ehlinger missed the second half after sustaining a shoulder injury in second quarter. He returned to the field in the third quarter in warmups, with his right arm in a sling. There was no immediate word on the extent of Ehlinger’s injury.

Heading into the program’s first bowl game in four years, the CU Buffs football team is not taking the experience for granted. Head coach Karl Dorrell flew past expectations in 2020 but the first-year Colorado head coach has bigger goals in mind.
“We made a good step of progress this year,” Dorrell said. “I know the expectation was low and all that but in our building, we always felt we had some capable players to be successful and we were able to be successful.”
