Chandler police have arrested a suspect who they say was involved in a shooting incident with police before allegedly causing a major crash on Saturday night.
According to police, officers had some kind of shooting altercation with the suspect near Frye Road and Arizona Avenue before the suspect fled. Police did not specify who fired a weapon.
After fleeing, the suspect allegedly caused a six-car crash at Dobson and Frye roads. Ten patients were evaluated on the scene and three were transported to the hospital in serious condition, officials said.

When officers arrived, a man was found inside an RV and refused to leave. When our officers caught him inside, he would not exit, would not follow directions or orders, said Sergeant Jason McClimans with Chandler Police. Because of his referred movements, our officers backed up.
