Ziply Fiber will expand gigabit broadband to 22 more markets later this year, the company announced today. The expansion will be concentrated in smaller and rural towns across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana this calendar year. Expansion will focus mostly on smaller and rural towns, as part of Ziply Fiber’s multi-year, $500 million investment in its network.
Ziply was born from Frontier’s Northwest operations when WaveDivision Capital bought those operations from Frontier for $1.3 billion.
“Since that time, the company has hired more than 400 new employees and has laid more than 1,000 miles of new fiber to help improve internet connectivity in rural areas to be on par with larger metropolitan areas, and has added thousands of customers onto its new fiber network,” Ziply noted in a press release.

Kirkland, Washington–Ziply Fiber announced plans to bring gig-speed fiber Internet service to an additional 22 markets across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana this calendar year. Cosmetic contract formulator and manufacturer Artisan Labs will erect a new 12,000-sq-ft production facility in Hansen, ID and hire over 50 people to staff the facility, Southern Idaho Economic Development revealed in a release Monday.
“Artisan Labs is a significant addition to the Magic Valley economy,” Idaho Commerce Director Tom Kealey said in a statement. “By executing all aspects of their manufacturing process at their new Idaho facility – from product development to production and packaging – their investment is providing the region’s workforce with an exciting opportunity to leverage their diverse expertise.”
