The government of Tanzania on Monday announced measures aimed at boosting production of coffee in the 2021/2022 financial year, including production of high quality hybrid seeds.
Adolf Mkenda, the Minister for Agriculture, told the parliament that the move was aimed at producing over 70,000 tonnes of the crop in the 2021/2022 fiscal year.
Mkenda said the Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) has been tasked to produce and distribute 20 million coffee hybrid seeds to 30 coffee growing districts in the country.
